This time last week I was getting excited, it was Indy Man Beer Con day, a great chance to savour some great beers, rarities, collabs, one-offs, the creme de la creme of 21st century brewing laid out before me. Not only that, all this would take place in a superb atmospheric building, the Victoria Baths – a stunning venue, I would be literally SWIMMING IN BEER.
PLUS, I would be ‘networking’ with the great & good of modern beer, brewers, barkeeps, bloggers, blaggers, wranglers, danglers & maybe even The Stranglers ( well probably not The Stranglers but you never know, Jet Black did used to run a homebrew shop / off licence, there’s a fascinating interview here that covers the period in great detail, long read but worth it ).
Anyway, those of you who couldn’t attend are probably looking forward to my extensive tasting notes & insights into the minds of the movers & shakers of planet craft beer yes?
I’m sorry, I can’t help you, I got absolutely trousered & can hardly remember a thing, by about half ten I set the controls to auto-pilot & went with the flow.
I did take a few photos though, so let’s follow the magic beermat & try & piece it together.
So that was IMBC 15, another great one, see you next year.
