DO THE LOCAL MOTIVE WITH ME – Fallen Brewing Local Motive Session IPA

What was the best bottled beer you had over the weekend I hear you ask?

This week that highly sought after accolade goes to Local Motive from Fallen Brewing in Scotland.

Here’s the lowdown – Fallen Brewing are housed, so their website tells me, in the Old Kippen Railway Station, surrounded by the Gargunnock & Fintry Hills in the South West Highlands of Scotland. Sounds well craggy & like a good place for a long hike to a good beer. Local Motive is a *Session IPA*, a descriptor imported from the states that I take to indicate a beer that you can happily drink a few of, but is still full flavoured & probably involves dry hopping (likely with US or New World hops). Fallen tick all the boxes, 3.9% abv, dry hopped with Mosaic for mangotastic, citrussy goodness that I’d be happy to slurp all night.

Mouthfeel is what gives it the edge, bottle conditioned & unfiltered, it was perfectly carbonated with a soft quaffability. Nicely presented too, suitably craggy label.

Apparently this is a *turbo-charged* version of the beer they brew for The Cross Keys Pub, have a look at their website, it looks like a cracking little hidey-hole where “kids with well behaved parents can pop in for a pint or two”.

Count me in.
